Not every life or collective story whose significance deserves preservation can independently commission that preservation. Gyaanka's Sponsorship Programme allows individuals, families, corporates and philanthropic organisations to fund the professional documentation of a deserving life, community or institution, an act of gratitude that extends beyond a single family into the memory of a wider circle.

Sponsorship allows individuals, families and organisations to ensure that a life, or a collective story, of genuine significance is preserved with professional care, even when the subject themselves would never commission such a project.
The place that shaped you
A person who left a remote village or small town, achieved success, and now wishes to preserve the story of the place that shaped them.
A teacher or an institute
A student or former student sponsoring the biography of a teacher, or documenting an educational institute, that profoundly influenced their life.
A mentor, coach or guide
A successful professional sponsoring the story of a mentor, coach or guide whose counsel proved decisive.
An employee who built the organisation
An organisation documenting the life and contribution of an employee whose work played a pivotal role in its growth.
A relative whose service went unrecorded
A family honouring a relative whose service to others, as physician, social worker, artisan or community elder, has remained largely unrecorded.
These are only a few of the forms sponsorship may take. Whenever a life or a collective memory holds meaning that deserves to outlast the generation that lived it, Gyaanka's Sponsorship Programme exists to make that preservation possible.
How it works
From Sponsor to Preserved Story
A sponsor identifies, or Gyaanka, through its editorial research, recommends, a subject whose story merits preservation. The sponsor funds the project in part or in full, and Gyaanka undertakes the research, writing and production with the same rigour applied to any commissioned assignment.
Different ways to sponsor
Your Name, or None
Sponsorships may be made in one's own name, in honour of a mentor or elder, on behalf of a corporate CSR initiative, or anonymously. Every sponsorship is acknowledged with the dignity the underlying story deserves.
Preserving the unsung
History is generous to the famous and often careless with everyone else.
